A 60-foot tower on Oke-Are, Ibadan's highest hill, with a 360-degree view of the city's brown roofs.
Bower's Tower is a memorial to Captain Robert Lister Bower, Ibadan's first British Resident, who arrived in 1893. Locals call the hill Oke Layipo, after the tight spiral staircase of 47 steps that winds up inside the tower.
From the top you can pick out Cocoa House, Dugbe market, Agodi Gardens, UCH and the University of Ibadan. The climb up is narrow and cramped, so wear good shoes. If you take a bike up the hill, ask the rider to wait, or you'll be walking back down.
